Full Time

Vilnius/Kaunas

Senior Backend Engineer

Webshare is an affordable and powerful self-serve proxy infrastructure. Built for prosumers, solopreneurs, and growing businesses, it delivers enterprise-grade capabilities without the premium price tag or the sales calls.
That same principle shapes the team: lean, flat, and async by default, where clarity and follow-through matter more than hierarchy.
Webshare is an enterprise-grade proxy platform delivering fast, self-service access to over 80 million global IPs across 195 countries. Built for extreme reliability with 99.97% network uptime, it enables tens of thousands of businesses worldwide to run large-scale web scraping, market research, and automated data collection through dev-friendly APIs.

In this role, you’ll:

Build and maintain high-performance backend APIs that power Webshare’s proxy infrastructure.
Own the design and delivery of services that handle billions of requests daily.
Collaborate in a highly autonomous team to scope, plan, and execute work with minimal meetings.
Investigate and resolve production issues across distributed systems.
Balance speed and quality, by identifying which trade-off is better for a particular situation.
Operate and improve our containerized infrastructure.
Continuously improve system performance, observability, and cost-efficiency.

Your skills & experience:

Strong experience in at least one OOP language.
Ability to work with industry standard AI tools (LLMs), while balancing code quality and speed, but never compromising on reliability and architecture.
Ability to work in a programming language agnostic environment, you're eager to learn and excited to grow your backend engineering skills, including working with Python.
Comfortable working in an infrastructure heavy environment.
Proven experience designing and scaling APIs.
Familiarity with distributed systems and async architectures.
Willingness to understand deep networking concepts (BGP, CIDR, ASNs).
Fluent English (international team).
Can handle working with a remote team (we’re worldwide).

Nice to have:

Experience with Python.
Experience with very large datasets.
Experience with proxies or other networking-related technologies.
Experience with golang.

Salary & Benefits:

Gross salary:  6 000 - 7 200 EUR/month gross. Keep in mind that we are open to discussing a different salary based on your skills and experience.
Growth & Learning: 40+ internal learning options, external conferences, mentorship, and year-round knowledge-sharing.
Health & Well-being: Private health insurance, gym allowance and a wellness app.
Celebration & Community: Team events, an overseas workation and plenty of ways to mark milestones together.
