Introducing Source: the Data Ecosystem for the Next Era of Intelligence

Web data access has long underpinned how people discover and use information. The scale and complexity of that access, however, is changing fast. AI agents with autonomous capabilities are reshaping how people interact with the web and how businesses build, make decisions, and grow.

The stakes are high for these businesses and web developers. They depend on reliable real-time data access more than ever. It is time to bring the web access layer to the next level.

That’s why we introduce Source.

Source is the ecosystem behind independent companies building across the web data sector and a foundation for new ventures, technologies, and ideas. All these companies and ventures, from industry-leading Oxylabs to new, emerging projects, develop infrastructures and solutions to answer the diverse web data needs of AI development, digital workflows, and business intelligence across industries.

The world today runs on data intelligence, and the rise of autonomous agents is now supercharging innovation across every sector. Web access that lets these systems work effectively is more than a technical capability. It forms the foundation for the next wave of progress.

Vytautas Savickas, CEO of Source

As the ecosystem that builds this foundation fully forms and emerges with a unified public identity, businesses have a single, clear starting point for answering all their public web data needs. Whatever the scale, whatever the complexity – go to Source.

What We Stand for

Reliable access depends on the standards that guide everything from infrastructure management to use-case vetting. These standards of quality, performance, compliance, and responsibility hold across the entire ecosystem.

We believe independence and collective advantage are two ways to achieve the same goal. Better access to more people. Better search, fairer rules, and advanced solutions for interacting with the web.

Source is essential for us and for internet users around the world because the questions facing the open web are bigger than any one company, and the answers will outlast all of us. AI, next-generation tech products, the decisions that shape markets and societies all depend on access to web data. The terms of this access that were clear at the dawn of the internet are now contested.

All companies within Source firmly believe that public information belongs in public reach. Advocating for these shared values and core beliefs is another reason Source is emerging right now. Ultimately, Source is driven by an ambition to turn responsible access to web data into intelligence behind the next great leap forward.

Why Now?

The structure that now fully evolves into Source was taking shape for years. It starts with the groundwork that Oxylabs has been laying ever since its founding in 2015 and has grown over time through product development, acquisitions, investments, and new ventures, becoming a global ecosystem.

Throughout those years, the ecosystem’s influence grew as well. Across its companies and ventures, over 800 people, including more than 350 engineers and developers, serve 350,000 customers worldwide, with active traffic in more than 180 countries.

After a $130M investment by the global private equity firm Warburg Pincus, the ecosystem is valued at $3.6B – globally, the highest valuation in web access infrastructure. Thus, the ecosystem’s necessity and impact were felt for years.

The investment from Warburg Pincus is one signal among several that this ecosystem has reached a stage where its collective weight and potential are visible from outside and recognized by investors and the broader market. This calls for the formalization that reflects this maturity.

But the main reasons for Source are future-directed. Source fosters innovation. The emphasis on enabling and rewarding inventors led to a robust patenting system, more than 180 patents, and over 215 trademarks.

Structured for Innovation

Source is structured as an ecosystem. Each company operates on its own terms, with its own team. Product strategy, customer base, and market presence remain fully independent.

This governance model helps us to better support our diverse businesses and ventures while continuing to ensure a unified set of high-level principles across all of them. It allows us to foster synergies between teams, encourage knowledge sharing, and create a strong foundation for sustainable, long-term growth and innovation.

Julius Černiauskas, Chairman of the Board of Source.

Source and its ventures

Separately, Source has no customers or products. Its goal is to unlock the full potential of the ecosystem’s companies, teams, and people and to remove burdens and barriers that stand in their way.

Source provides operational backbone, taking care of patenting, procurement, hiring, compliance, and other support functions. Additionally, Source supports its visionaries by allocating capital and resources to promising new ventures. Teams can experiment and explore these ideas with guidance from Source leadership or experts from across the ecosystem.

Oxylabs

Oxylabs serves leading enterprises and AI labs at the edge of access, where known capabilities are no longer enough. It builds infrastructure that lets AI agents travel the live web instantly and powers the next generation of web tools.

Decodo

Decodo meets tech teams where data access becomes a multi-layered business problem requiring custom solutions. Built for the mid-market, it serves AI startups whose data needs can multiply within a day and scales with them, as an all-in-one platform capable of enterprise workloads.

Honeygain

A simple internet connection is the most fundamental form of web access, with more capacity than most users need. Honeygain turns that surplus into infrastructure: people opt in to share unused bandwidth in exchange for rewards, with around $27M paid out since 2019. The result is a consent-based, globally distributed network.

ScrapingBee

ScrapingBee provides access to data as a finished solution. It's a scraping API for developers who want the data, not the tooling. JavaScript rendering, proxy rotation, retries, geolocation, and access challenges are all absorbed behind a single call.

Webshare

Webshare makes proxy infrastructure easy to reach through a fast, affordable, highly customizable platform built for solopreneurs and prosumers. As the entry-market leader, it offers a permanent free plan that has already served 3M users. It's the first place shared bandwidth finds new life as access for people building on the public web.

The Next

Source begins its next chapter with a clear intention: to be the most influential data ecosystem for the future it is already helping to shape. One whose standards others measure themselves against, and whose work makes the open web more useful to more people.

We do this from Vilnius, on a global scale. At 1.5 million requests per second, we process more interactions than there are human beings on Earth in less than 90 minutes. Operating reliably at this scale requires deep, proprietary expertise—and we build it in a city that has become one of Europe's centers of gravity for data and AI, serving organizations worldwide, from Fortune 500 enterprises to startups and non-profits.

The next is what we can achieve together with all these organizations. Next great product. Next technological advancement that reshapes everyday lives. Next step in humanity's progress toward more equal, more capable societies. They and internet users worldwide are the architects of a better future, a better next.

Every next has its source. We are Source.
